Job Description:
Social Worker II - CCHS Social Work - 526156
Oversees and coordinates Medication Assistance Program for UMC,
which serves patients who cannot afford necessary medications.
Communicates and collaborates with pharmaceutical companies,
distributors, and insurers to source affordable prescription
options for patients.
Assists with development and delivery of a robust field education
curriculum to social work students. Assists with teaching students
from multiple ancillary health programs, including but not limited
medicine (undergraduate and graduate), pharmacy, psychology, and
nutrition.Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's
degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on
Social Work Education. Four (4) years of progressively complex
social work practice experience in individual and family counseling
and/or case management. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
(LICSW) in the state of Alabama in good standing,
Experience using an electronic health record system in a previous
learning or employed role.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of
age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under
the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer
drug screen.Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational and program
support skills with knowledge in the areas of behavioral health and
social services. Demonstrated skills in clinical decision-making.
Ability to exercise discretion, diplomacy, and tact in
patient/staff interactions; willingness to learn and consistently
deliver patient-centered high-quality, customer-friendly service.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected health
information and follow HIPAA and/or FERPA regulations at all
times.
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting. Ability to
cope with stressful conditions. Ability to demonstrate tact,
versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree
of self-motivation and directional initiative. Skill in exercising
initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. Skill
in organizing work to achieve department goals and objectives.
Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Working
knowledge of standard office software applications, including
Microsoft Office and basic data platforms. Ability to create and
manage spreadsheets, databases, and other tools to tracking
progress toward program goals. Ability to work a flexible
schedule.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in provision of
therapeutic services. Teaching experience with a social work
academic program including field education instruction.Background
